icloud is holding my phone hostage. I can't access it, and can't get it off of my phone!
Can't turn off find my phone, or delete icloud account from my phone, can't access icloud account at all. How do I get rid of it?

Can't turn off
Not enough info in your post. Expalin EXACTLY what you did, and EXACTLY what happened.
I exactly can't access icloud settings with my apple id. icloud is linked to a different apple id which I have no access to.
Is this your phone? Did you purchase it brand new?
The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.

Why is that..? Is it not your Device..? Did you purchase it New or Used..?

You can access iCloud.com on a computer to turn it off.
no i can not, because i cannot access that icloud account

Do you mean that is is Not Your Account..?
Then you have a major problem... as ' The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.'
i recognise the username as my own - i probably tried to set something like locate my iphone up when i first got my iphone but gave up when i realized it would not work with my mac os or any other computer i had. I do not recall ever completing the process or doing anything with the account. when i updated itunes it's suddenly there on my iphone and not associated with my apple id/itunes account. there doesn't seme to be any way to get access to it, or to remove it
If you recognize that username, you could go into iforgot.appleid.com and try to reset that password. If you cannot do that, then you are out of luck. If you cannot turn off Find My iPhone, using that account, you will not be able to restore the device.
Was your current iCloud ID created by editing (changing the details of) this old ID, rather than creating an entirely new ID?
