Tripod Mount

Anybody have recent experience with the market for tripod mounts for the iPad (4 retina). For Video.

Impossible to take decent video at available great resolution hand holding an iPad. Also need a stable base to add connection for shotgun mike, tired of hearig my labored breathing cluttering ambient sound.

Seems weird even thinking of using an iPad for serious or serious personal video (grands). Better than smart phone selfies.

There are much better mounts out there Peter - Try this from iShot Pro® Mounts - This one made from all metal construction and fits any case.

iShot Pro® Mounts - G7 Pro for iPad 2 3 4 and iPad Air - -> amzn.to/KfGcFJ

@DMRink - If you value your expensive ipad then you wouldnt use a 14$ plastic mount to place your ipad onto a tripod. I do not agree with your comments that the Grifit nootle ipad tripod mount for 2, 3 and 4 would be a good solution for ipad tripod mounting. In fact we've tried their mount and the 1/4-20 thread became dislodged and our ipad hit the ground causing damage to the corner of our ipad.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I've had this mount for over a year never had the iPad become dislodged. In fact I was so impressed with how well it held it, that I purchased another for our iPad Mini and for my teenage sons iPad 2. Spending more money does not always mean you are receiving a superior product, Amazon reviews are showing great support for the Grifiti compared to the iShot.

At 14$ your right about the reviews. But most people already use a case on the ipad so grifit mount you have to take the case off everytime. (NO THANKS!)

And on another note about the reviews, they offer to sign you up as a beta tester for their products in lou for a review. And send you some rubber bands to hold the ipad in the mount! (AGAIN NO THANKS!)

Almost black mailing you into posting a review for free products!? Who does that?

Glad you've had good luck with the mount as we have not. Well stick with iShot products as they are all metal construction so i have no fear my ipad will hit the ground ever again even in my own case.

Peter, The biggest problem with both of those , Noodle,Ishot, is that they are not set up for using the ipad as a camera. check this out. http://nexstartraining.com it is set up with everything. In the world of filming you do get what you pay for. I have spent over 30 years in the film biz working in camera so I understand a little bit about it.

I am looking for a tripod that will allow me to shoot video tutorials of craft/drawing projects. I need to be able to shoot straight down at the table surface to video a project that is being created on the table. I can not tell by looking at the various tripods suggested if they will rotate into that position. I have an iPad mini. Thanks!
