New Apple ID

Here is my situation.

For the longest time my family has had all their devices linked to one apple ID. This has gotten quite bothersome and i want to seperate my stuff from everyone elses.

I have my laptop with all my data on it and my Iphone will all the data on it too. Both are linked to the email I mentioned earlier.

My plan was to create a new apple ID on the same laptop, and then transfer all my data from my phone onto that ID. Will that work? Or should I put it all onto an external harddrive first?

Can I just simply plug in my iphone with the previous apple ID into my computer with a new Apple ID and have everything work out?

Thanks! 🙂

Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID
