My keyboard won't pair!!

I had to restart my iMac tonight because of an update I was too lazy to update before, but when it restarted my keyboard wouldn't connect, the keyboard was on discoverable and everything, it wouldn't pair. The mouse would work right away, I already changed the batteries and restarted/shut offf my iMac, i don't know what else to try
