i changed my password last night and forgot it this mornign.
im trying to restore it but it isnt giving me the option to restore without updating the software.
my hostel internet connection wont let me update the software!

Hi sorry Im not very good with computers but I tried the suggestions and they are not working for me.
I forgot my IPads passcode and now it shows disabled, I connected it to my Laptop and ITunes while holding the home button but a window just shows that I need a passcode which I obviously cant do, Is my only hope to take it to an Apple store , there are none anywhere near us ? thanks in advance .
If you follow the instructions for recovery mode (that Alfred DeRose) posted above, you will be able to un-disable your iPad. If you received a notification on your iPad that it is locked with a passcode, you didn't get to recovery mode. It may take more than one try.
