Moving mail out of the trash

First of all, it is really bad UI design that the reply and delete buttons in mail are next to each other (in particular when answering mails

on say a bus).

OK, so I happened to delete a mail I was intending to reply. So I figured, no big deal jsut move it back to the inbox. However,

when I try to move it back, mail will crash (and the mail will remain in the trash). Both inbox and trash are on an imap server.

I then moved it back on my iPhone (which runs iOS6) without problems.

Is there a way to get a mail back to the inbox (not using a different computer).

iPad Air Wi-Fi, Cellular, iOS 7.0.4

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried with a test message. This time mail would display the "activity wheel" forever.

After 2 minutes I restarted mail with the result that the message was neither in the trash nor in my inbox.

I am very frustrated as mail seems very unreliable on the ipad. Today I friend sent me a short plain text message from his iPhone and mail told me that it cannot display this message and I should ask the sender to resend it.

The very same mail (one line of plain text, no html or attachments) displays fine on my iPhone and Mac!?
