App store not recognising password

Help!

Since upgrading to IOS 7 and the latest version I have been unable to update my Apps via the App Store. My iTunes account works fine in iTunes for music etc but not for Apps. I have reset and restored the iPad but with no change to the situation. I live quite away from an Apple store otherwise I would have taken it in by now and I hate trying to fix these things by phone. Normally I am fixing other peoples Mac based problems but this one has me beat! Any advice welcomed.

Incidentally I can access my Apple ID/App store from all other devices including iPhone and various computers.

Thanks

Is your computer running the current version of iTunes 11.1.1?

Were the applications purchased with another Apple ID? Not sure? Right click on an app that won't update and 'get info'. This will show which Apple ID was used to purchase the app.

Are you unable to access the App Store on the iPad? (And therefore can't update or purchase from iPad). This is most likely a conflict between the ID and password in the settings and the valid ID you use.

Usually signing out Apple ID and signing in fixes it, but you tried that already.

Reset of settings may clear it. Reboot afterwards.

Have tried 'Check for available downloads...' and it says "all purchases have been downloaded". Is there another way to Update the Apps in iTunes?

This doesn't update Apps.

To update Apps, on the computer, in your library, select 'Apps' from the left column. This shows all purchased apps.

Select update all from bottom of screen.

Check your settings on iPad in iTunes Store to see if auto update is off. ?? Otherwise they should update on request from the iPad. (More ios7 weirdness)

Thanks have now found how to update in iTunes but for the Apps in question my password is rejected. They all appear to have been purchased with my regular ID. I thought to try resetting the password and asked for emails to be sent but after 2-3 minutes nothing has arrived. It is really weird. I will wait for an hour or so to see if emails arrive.
