iPhone 5s factory screen protector

Hi I've had my iPhone 5s for a few weeks and the other day I took the phone out of my pocket and found a slight scratch on the screen even though I always keep my phone separate from keys and any loose change.

I've had a 3GS and 4s in the past and the screen has never scratched before is there a protective and virtually invisible protector that I need to remove or am I stuck with it now? I do have a side and back cover but I've never been a big fan of the screen protectors because of unsightly bubbles after applying.

I thought iPhones had a pretty good scratch resistant screen.

Any help would be appreciated.

There is no such thing as a "factory screen protector".

Should the screen have just one cover over the screen then that you have to peel off then? I seem to remember I thought I had the same problem with my 4s but there was a thin film of plastic over the screen. But for the life of me I can't find one on this one.

When iPhones are shipped new, they have a protective film on the screen, but this is not a screen protector & should be removed before use.

As already provided:

When iPhones are shipped new, they have a protective film on the screen, but this is not a screen protector & should be removed before use.

I'm assuming that was one with the tab on it which was removed.

Just seems a bit bad that the latest phones screen though isn't as durable as it's predecessors I mean I never had a screen protector on my other phones and they never got scratched even after 2 years.

The mark on the screen just looks like a hair is on the screen and on a white background it's totally noticeable.

Sorry about your issue. I've never had a screen protector on any iPhone, & I've never experienced a scratched screen.

Well, I've got a 5S, no screen protector, no scratches. Nor does anyone I know with a 5S use a screen protector or have any scratches.

You can just about see the mark just to the left of the arrow on the reply to original post wording.

Surely having a phone is your pocket shouldn't cause the screen to scratch?

Sorry, I don't know what else to tell you. Stuff happens in life. There is no such thing as a scratch proof iPhone screen. While extremely durable, the fact is it can be scratched.
