Q: OS X

OS X downloaded and installed, working fine and receiving updates. However, app store still shows download button and not installed

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

A:

The Mac App Store reports about the status of apps, not OSs. Mavericks on the MAS is the installer, an app. The installer self-deletes when the OS has been successfully installed. The MAS shows it available for download should you need it again.

OS X still shows as not installed in purchases though?

In my MAS Purchases list it shows that the OS X Mavericks installer app is available to download. It has no comentary as to whether the installer has been run and OS X Mavericks installed.
