Dec 19, 2013 11:19 AM in response to Tami Appletonby razmee209,Once you activate your new phone (assuming the same number) your old phone will deactivate. You can tell on the old phone because you would see searching or no service.
If you're having text issue, then contact your phone carrier.
If the issue is imessage, then on your old phone go to settings - message - imessage - off

If they are not, you'll need to contact your carrier to have them activate a sim card for your new Phone.
If the new phone is not an iPhone, then you need to deactivate iMessages in your old iPhone so your new non iPhone phone can recieve messages from iPhone users.
