iPhoto won't drag to trash, how to un-install?

Because of this: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5682334 I need to uninstall iPhoto and reinstall it.

My computer isn't allowing me to drag anything from applications to trash in order to delete it.

Is there a setting I need to change? Or some other way to uninstall iPhoto?

Thanks.

The Applications folder is protected. You have to authorize as administrator to delete applications. You cannot simply drag from Applications to move items. That will just create an alias.

To trash iPhoto select it in "Applications". Then press the keyboard shortcut combination command-delete ⌘⌫ .

The Finder will now ask for your password - enter it.
