Set Up Bluetooth Device not showing on Mavericks

The "Set Up Bluetooth Device" option is not showing on the bluetooth pulldown menu bar. And in System Preferences > Bluetooth there is no " + -" bar at bottom of window, so can't setup that way either. Bluetooth is on and appears to be OK otherwise. Running 10.9 on iMac (Mid 2011 21.5") Any ideas?
