Does the latest MAcBook Pro support using IR remote?

Does the latest MAcBook Pro support using Apple IR remote for Apple TV?

I.e. can I use this remote to control iTunes and so on?

MACBOOK PRO (RETINA, 15-INCH, LATE 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Hey skytruck7x7,

Thanks for the question. The new MacBook Pro with Retina display does not include an infrared receiver. A quick way to confirm would be to do the following:

OS X Mavericks: If your Apple Remote isn’t working

http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14077

Turn on IR reception

1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, click General, then click Advanced.

2. Deselect “Disable remote control infrared receiver.”

Note: If you don’t see this option, your computer may not have a built-in IR receiver.

Thanks,

Matt M.
