The three dots no longer show up in my iMessages texts.

I recently did that newest software update, not sure if that's why this happened. Other iPhone users can see when I'm replying and I can't see why they are. How do I fix this, so that those dots appear again? I've tried resetting my network setting, no help there.

iPhone, iOS 7.0.4

Those should only be displayed if you are in an iMessage, and only if it is a message between two people. Group messages do not display those. If this does not apply to you, you can always perform a reset on the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. This will not affect your data and the phone will reboot. See if it works then.

Thank you for joining us here on ASC. However, the thread that you just responded to is 3 years old, and how things may have operated then could be very different than now.

When responding to threads, it is a good idea to check out the date, as software changes have changed the way things are done and what features are available.
