Q: Does FCP 3 work on an intel mac?

Will it work on an MacBook Pro running MAC OS X 10.6.8 with a 2.66 ghz intel core 2 duo. 4gb ram and a NVIDIA GeForce 9400M video card?

I am getting conflicting advice elsewhere.

With such an old Final Cut Pro version, I doubt he will have serious problems. Note that Final Cut Pro 3 is designed to work with G4 Macs that were released before 2005, so the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M GPU, although it is an integrated GPU and it is not the best GPU for video editing, should work (it is even compatible with the latest Final Cut Pro)

Final Cut Pro 3 is designed for PowerPC-based Macs, and you have got an Intel Mac. However, Mac OS X Snow Leopard supports Rosetta, which allows you to run PowerPC applications on your Intel Mac so, unless you upgrade to a newer OS X version, you should be able to run that version

Thanks for the repsonse. I am having a clear out and selling FCP3 and the chap who is interested has the above specs. Will his graphics card cause a problem do you think?
