My Ipad won't let me in when I try and slide to unlock it ...the message is Not Enough Storage...but I can't get in to put more storage on it

My Ipad won't let me in when I try and slide to unlock it...the message is Not enough Storage but I can't get in to add more storage...what do I do to increase storage...can I use my computer to do so?
