My ipod touch 4th generation was stolen. I need to know how to shut it down completely and erase all of the information on it. I do not have it connected to the cloud for whatever reason. How do i erase all of the information on my ipod?

My ipod touch was stolen and i need to know how to erase everything on it. I do not believe i have it hooked up to the cloud for whatever reason. Please help

If you didn't enable Find My iPod on it before it was stolen you can't erase it. If you did, you may be able to erase it by going to Find My iPhone on icloud.com, as explained here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmfc0ef36f.
