updating apps on iphone 4

Hi,

I can't update apps on my iphone 4.

I have updated to the newest IOS earlier.

When I am trying to update either a single app or all apps due an update, the "update" bit becomes a circle for a while, sometimes it asks me for my password (when I enter it incorrectly, it asks me for the correct one). After I enter my password, it just times out and nothing happens. I thought that it might be because I have little storage space left on the phone, but have now cleared 2GB to no avail.

I have read through various threads, I have restarted the phone, I have logged out of my itunes and icloud accounts on the phone, just nothing works. I have also verified payment options, etc, but it just won't work. Any idea?
