I got this computer from a pawn shop who resets them to factory standards,

problem is, they added their own password and everything, didn't give me a disc and i dont have the password, how do i reset it?

Take it back. Insist that they show you the password used and test it on the spot.

Until that is established the sale is not complete because you are unable to fully use the machine.


Because it is a pawnshop (a doubtful place to buy anything of this nature) should not exclude it from any local law on the sale of goods unless you have signed a receipt to the contrary. In any event, failure to provide a password has to be legally questionable in any circumstances.


Once you have the password, define exactly which model you have and you should be able to order the correct disk(s) from Apple. Then change the password.
