Import Photos

I just bought the Ipod Touch...ver 1.0.3 software....trying to put photos onto the Ipod. When I connect the Ipod to my computer, click on the Ipod,select photos to import into Itunes, all the jpg's are greyed out...I can't select ANYTHING!!! What am I doing wrong?????

Sounds simple but it's not working!
