First bit is actually great information! The second part...is not a reasonable answer. You can't just tell someone to REINSTALL THEIR OS if your solution doesn't work. That states that permissions are the only problem here.

That's like someone saying on the Home Depot forum, "Hey guys, I'm having problems with the nozzle on my sink in the guest bathroom. I can't get it to stop leaking," and someone responding, "Tighten it. If not, tear down your house and rebuild it." It's just not reasonable.

+1 for the Permissions bit though.

alhafiznawi - Were you messing with the info.plist file to get it to let you install from USB?

Reinstalling OSX is a fast (45 minutes or so) and reliable operation, often simpler and much faster than troubleshooting an issue with obscure origins. It may not be the first choice usually, but it is always a reliable and simple one.

That states that permissions are the only problem here.

BD does not suggest that it is permissions or reinstall, he suggested a full disk repair followed by a permissions repair.

That's like someone saying on the Home Depot forum,

It has nothing in common with your Home Depot analogy.

Specifically though Csound1, The Home Depot analogy is proper. Stating that one permission of one file is a reason to install is not reasonable.

No one has said that, your strawman lacks fibre.

To dispel any doubt please link to or quote from the post where "one permission of one file" was cited as a reason to reinstall.

OK. No one stated that. You win oh benevolent level 7. Thank you for letting me post on your forum. I am simply stating that regardless of the reason this application did not work, whether it was permissions, application version, or OP's favorite color, ZERO attempt was made to actually fix whatever was causing it. The only reason I mentioned it is because the OP may be doing an action that caused the problem. Reinstalling does not fix this behavior, it simply fixes the immediate.

Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (Code Signature Invalid)

Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000

This refers to the Code Signature. OP was potentially editing their plist.info file.

Open a terminal and navigate to /Applications/Utilities and run the following:

codesign --display -vv “Boot Camp Assistant.app”

You will likely come up with:

Boot Camp Assistant.app: invalid Info.plist (plist or signature have been modified)

If so, run:

sudo codesign -fs - /Applications/Utilities/Boot\ Camp\ Assistant.app

If you do not have Xcode installed, download it from the Apple App Store:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/xcode/id497799835?mt=12

Open first and accept licensing agreement. This will allow you to resign the package with the changes you made to the info.plist file.

Good to go. Let me know if you have any issues.
