Q: I have windows 8 on my pc.  when I connect my iPod Classic to sync it, it appeares to be synchronizing but it is not downloading recent music purchases on to my i Pod Classics.  Help!

I have windows 8 on my pc.  When I connect my iPod Classic to the computer and iTunes, it says it is synching but it does not download any of my recent music purchases to my iPod.  I have 266 songs purchased on my iPod and 286 songs purchased in my iTunes account.  All of this use to be automatic before I got a  new computer with windows 8 and also utilized the iCloud.

Unless you directly transferred your complete iTunes library from your old PC to your new PC, you probably need to set up automatic syncing for your iPod with the new PC's iTunes library.  There are several things to consider before doing this...

When you do this, the iPod's existing content will be erased and replaced with content from your new iTunes library.  That means any songs that are on the iPod that are NOT in your current iTunes library will be lost.  Is this OK?

    and also utilized the iCloud.

Does that mean you subscribe to Apple's iTunes Match service?  If so, your iTunes music library should be available from iCloud, so you can download your songs to your new PC.

To summarize...  If you want to set up automatic syncing for the iPod with your new PC's iTunes library, all of the songs you want on the iPod need to be stored locally, on the computer's drive.  You can then set up automatic syncing to erase the current content of the iPod and replace it with content from your new PC's iTunes library.

Before I explain how to do that, please post back with clarification about your current situation.
