missing file appears after I download a video from the iPad in iMovie

I really need help on this. I downloaded a video from the ipad. Initially it downloaded fine but because some of the clips were not positioned horizontally (I didn't look up how to rotate clips until today) I deleted the event. I decided after that I would import the video again, a question sign in a film strip with Missing File below it. It suggests try importing again. Well I did that at least 5 more times and the same message comes up. The video is still on the ipad so the problem I am thinking can't be that hard to solve, except I can't seem to figure it out. I downloaded other videos from that same ipad with no problem yesterday. Please Help.
