Can I run Mountain Lion on a 2007 MacPro (2x2.66GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon)?, Can I run Mountain Lion on a 2007 MacPro (2x2.66GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon)?

Hi, sorry for the ignorance but I've had conflicting reports from Apple Care and others. I know Mavericks isn't an option but I'm keen to get as far as 10.8.5 as I need to run the latest version of Aperture for RAW support of my Lumix GX7 camera. Is this possible? Thanks for any suggestions.

Lion is as far as it goes with Apple on 2007 (1,1 or 2,1)

Do you have another Mac? mini or something that can run ML? maybe you can search web for how-to setup a 3rd party install and boot loader.

Or maybe the delima of moving to a new Mac even the Mac Pro 2010/2012 are in stock in Apple Store under Specials 3.2GHz $2100

Or move from Aperture to Lightroom 5 feasable? Putting Aperture or LM4/5 photo library catalogue on an SSD (and use a PCIe SSD controller) will at least help performance on whatever Mac Pro you use.
