Q: Having trouble after transferring songs from one computer to another
After I transferred my itunes from my old computer via USB to my new laptop, I have been having problems getting some of those songs onto my ipod. They all show up in my itunes, but when I go to upload them to my ipod it will say; "Original file of this song cannot be found" and they will not upload. I find it strange that some of my old songs will upload fine, but the majority, even though I bought them off itunes or uploaded them from a cd, will not upload or even let me play them on the computer. When i got a new laptop, I also got a new ipod. I now have an ipod touch when I uses to have an ipod classic. Before transferring off my old computer, the internet crashed and I couldn't update my version of itunes therefore I couldn't upload music onto my new ipod touch. That is the reason why I downloaded itunes on my laptop and made the switch. So my situation now is I have two ipods; My ipod touch has very few of the songs off my old itunes and any new songs i've bought within the last year and a half. My old ipod has all my old songs on it which hapens to be the majority of my itunes probably well over 4,000 songs. I've put up with going between the two for about a year and a half now and my old ipod is getting close to dying on me and i'm afraid i'm going to loose all that music. I don't know if there is a simple solution for this, i've researched and tried different thing and can't seem to find a way to fix this. I want all my music on one ipod and preferably my new one. I've thought maybe the ipod touch is the probelm and have thought about just buying a new classic. But that doesn't explain the fact that I can't even play them on my computer. Anyone have any solutions to what the problem could be, or have dealt with this yourselves? Maybe it's something very simple i'm overlooking, either way I can't figure it out.
Thanks for your input
