I am connecting my new Apple TV to a Panasonic 42" Plasma TV that is about 4 years old. Model: PN42C450B1D. Any suggestions. I'm using Directv for my TV connection.

Plug an HDMI cable into ATV and into the TV.
AppleTV is independent of other connected devices - you hook it up to the TV via HDMI NOT to other connected boxes, unless using an HDMI switch or AV amp to switch many HDMI sources.
There should be no problem running AppleTV with a Panasonic plasma - I have 2 which are as old or older and they work fine.
