Mirroring on Apple TV using MacBook

Hi I am getting a MacBook Air for Christmas and I was just wondering if I used mirroring or extended display on an Apple TV and I wanted to watch a video online say on YouTube would the video be laggy and choppy because it is being played over wifi or will it play fine

It can be yes. It depends on the quality of your WiFi hardware and the amount of interference in your area. It would be a good idea to at least have ATV connected to your router/hub via Ethernet instead of WiFi.
