iMessage not working!?!?!? :(

Ok so I type in a message and press send. The sending thing at the top keeps going and then suddenly stops for a bit. Then it continues to go to the end. However once it reaches the end, instead of my message being delivered the message disappears. There is no red "!" Or anything, it's just absolutely gone. Along with that some issues occur where conversation of messages disappear and reappear again later. Please help! I have already:

1. Did hard reset (pressed sleep/wake button and home screen at once) I've actually done this many times today.

2. Turned iMessage off and then on again

3. Reset network settings

4. Did a restart holding the sleep/wake button and turning power off, etc.

I would like to have solutions to this problem without having to restart/delete everything, do a back up, sync, etc. iPod is 4th generation.
