Q: How do I connect my AV receiver, which connects to whole house speakers in ceilings, in order to hear audio from iTunes?
My home theater set up (~2006) has a receiver that runs speakers throughout the house. The back of the receiver has: port for earphones, RCA audio in/out. Receiver may be too old to have digital audio cable connection.
I want to connect an Airport Express or Airport Extreme to the receiver and use Air Play to use my iPad as a remote control in order to play internet music/videa, iTunes and Pandora radio, etc. Is this possible? If so, what are the connections I need?
iPad Air Wi-Fi, iOS 7.0.4

You need a 1/8" stereo to RCA connector.
Plug in the 1/8" to the airport express and the RCA stereo into an AUX imput on the receiver.
Set the Receiver to AUX and control away.
