Is there any appeal when Apple says damage to iPhone is not covered under warranty because of alleged mishandling

The screen of the iPhone separated from the body. The frame was bowed, however the screen was intact and the phone still works. The phone was not dropped, steped on or abused in any way. Apple says the phone would not qualify for warranty repair as they believe the damage was caused by dropping, or some other abuse. Is ther any appeal? The screen is not damaged in any way.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.5

Ask to speak to a supervisor or manager.

Call Apple and ask for the customer relations dept.

Same way anyone would escalate an issue with any other company.

Honestly though, a bowed frame is not a manufacturing defect. It is the result of the user sitting on the phone. Had it actually been bowed at the factory, the phone would never have assembled properly.

That's damage, not a defect. The phone wasn't like that when you bought it. That only happens from some form of abuse, intentionalor not. It doesn't matter whether the damage was deliberate or accidental.

It will cost $269 USD to replace the device. In the future, take greater care of your iPhone, and consider purchasing the AppleCare Protection Plan Plus, which is only $99, covers this type of abuse, and the replacement deductible is only $79.
