MAC OS X Mavericks, Problem with MAPS

hi , I'm using macbook pro, recently upgraded my OS to MAVERICKS. I have a problem accessing maps in OS X. when i go to directions and give from & to locations, i get the error "Nearest Route is not available, there are no directions" etc. please help
