Magic Mouse stopped working

Hi. Yesterday I did not do anything that I can point to, other than install the latest software update. I was on Mountain Lion, but have since upgarded to Maverick, because I hoped that might sort the issue...it hasnt. Suddenly I have no scroll bar and the scrolling gestures dont work. The only way to scoll is to use the arrow keys on the keyboard. I have tried some - not all - the suggested fixes - I am a little loathed to start putting commands into terminal or resetting. Really jsut want a simple fix! Surely Apple must know taht this sort of thing happens??....

Anyone know of a simple 'Fix' for this issue. Much appreciated.

iMac. 10.9.1 2.9 Ghz Intel Core i5

Addition for info. The mouse itself is connected and working. I can move the pointer around the screen fine as well as selecting links etc. Just no scrolling capability - even at the edge of the window.

Try resetting the PRAM.

Thanks Barry. yep. done that one. no luck.

I continue to search through the discussions. I cant believe that the MM can just be working one moment and not the next...It opnly seems to be the scroll and other gestures that have suddenly disappeared.

The mouse may have failed. If you are close to an Apple store, take it in and see if it will work on one of their systems.

I read in another post in this support community to delete the plists associated with the magic mouse. I did and it fixed the problem for me.
