External hard drive (G-RAID) is not recognised as linked by the USB3 input on my new iMac. Any tips on how to connect it please? Thank you!

I have just bought a new highly specified 27" iMac! The G-Raid 4tb twin disc external drive is correctly connected to the USB-3 port at the back. But the finder does not recognise it being connected! The G-raid is powered up correctly. Any ideas how I can 'search' and get the G-Raid showing on the finder, and Final Cut Pro X 10.1? Many, thanks, Ian
