i have ios 4.3 on a ipad 2. & trying to update to ios 7. was told to back up my device.tried to but i needed to download icloud to do that ,then it said i need ios 7 min.req. to get icloud to get ios 7? ***?!? help please!

The option to update without the computer (Over the air) was made available with iOS 5. If your iDevice is using a version of iOS lower than 5, you will need to use iTunes on your syncing computer to perform the upgrade. Use the Apple link below as a guide for the upgrade.

thanks for the help . but what happens when it says to update to latest itunes first? but to do that i need a minimum of ios 5 to do that. im 4.3...
That indicate you need a higher version of iTunes on your syncing computer. What version of iTunes is on your computer? What is your operating system on the computer?
i am on an ipad 2 using ios 4.3 trying to update to latest ios, i have no computer ,whan itry to update from itunes it says get latest i tunes but i need min ios 5 to do so. im 4.3 .am i screwed.
You will need iTunes to do that upgrade. Do you have access to another computer? If so, be sure to back up the iPod prior to using it to upgrade the iPod.
Also note, if you upgrade the iPod, it will be to iOS 7.0.4
