i need help! my macbook air 11" was at 0% this morning when i turned it on and for some reason theres a thing that says service battery on the battery prefrences window. im not sure what to do and how i would fix this problem for my macbook air 11"

Of course. You can do it yourself or at an Apple Store or reseller, but the cost is quite similar, and if the MacBook is in warranty, the battery replacement is free of charge
now what could i do if i dont have enough storage to back up my storage?
Get an external drive or take the Mac directly. A battery replacement does not modify the flash storage, so you should not lose anything. However, if something goes wrong and affects to the flash storage, you will lose everything
