Q: Activation Lock Does not Work

I bought the iphone 5s from the owner.

He was not tech savy so he gave me his apple id and password.

I managed to erase the phone, however he changed the password afterwards.

Afterwards I called him up to give me some more time but now his iCloud does not show the phone.

However the activiation is showing on the phone even after DFU and reformatting it.

Entering the user name and password does not deactivate the phone.

So not on iCould and does not deactivate on the phone

So what do I do now?

Who do I contact from Apple to help me?

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4

What are you talking about? it works perfectly. Go back to the person you got it from again. Thave them activate the phone, then set it up and put your own iCloud account in and turn on the Find my iPhone service.

Apple won't help you with this.

You can't deactivate it because the password for the iCloud account that was used to lock it has been changed. The owner of the account will have to remove the lock. There is no way to bypass it.

In effect, I think he was "tech savvy" and you were not....

It is as kilted Tim says, the locks should be removed by the Apple ID that put it on.
