Q: Problems after unlocking my iPhone with ATT

After unlocking my iPhone 3GS with ATT and going through the restore process via SIM card, WiFi and iTunes, I am unable to re-activate my phone.

Using a T Mobile SIM card and/or via WiFi I get a message that the server is temporarily unavailable. When I try iTunes, I get a message indicating that there is no SIM card inserted when it has one in.

Did you get the 'Congratulations your iPhone is now unlocked message' when following

    AT&T's instructions?

    Has your iPhone been jailbroken?

Never got the "Congratulations" message. The phone stops when looking for telephone connectivity (third step after choosing a WiFi network).

The phone whas unlocked and jailbroken long time ago using a thrid party software but lately could never update it to a more recent iOS.  Apps were not being updated and stopped working. So, I decided to unlock the iPhone using the ATT/Apple process.  I updated the iOS before unlocking it using the Apple/ATT instructions.

Your phone is not being unlocked because you hacked/jailbroke it in the past. Your phone will most likely never be unlocked legitimately.

You cannot get help here for jailbroken phones. I suggest you go back to whomever hacked your phone for help.
