Itunes will not play the whole album. It continues to play the first song and in the "what next" column the song is listed multiple times as next.

I have followed the instructions given in past support questions for this: check all songs under the songs heading that I want to play or clicking all by using command and click, clicking on album heading, choosing an album and pressing play arrow next to album. i still only get the first song playing over and over.

i have had my mac long enough to remember that i previously could click on the album and the whole album would play. what happened?

I do not want to make a playlist. Seems so simple a request. What am I missing?
