    Where did you look?

Do a spotlight search for the file name.

What type of files did you move?  Mail files are probably in a hidden file ~/Library

Thanks, Robert. I actually found the answer as others have had this problem. I needed to use the same identity as I had on my old PC. '

    Hi,

I am not sure what is meant by "Use the same identity as my old PC".  Can you explain that?  Does it mean that I should have chosen an account name that is the same as my old PC?

I have completed migration and the files seems to have been transferred from my Windows 7 PC because when I check "About my Mac" under storage, the correct amount of memory was taken up.  However, even using spotlight search, files (such as word files, excel, pdfs, etc) are not showing up in the search results and cannot be found on my new MacBook Pro 13 Retina.

If anyone can help, I would appreciate it.

See if you can find the files using this program. If you go Finder/View/Show Path Bar, it will show you where it is located.

Yes.  You need to logon to the same account name as your old pc.

    Hi RCCharles,

Thank you for taking some time to help!

How do I logon to the same account as my old PC?  This MacBook Pro retina is all set up and the migration is completed, but the files are still not visible.  I go to Users&Groups from System Preferences but the only account available is the new account I created (not the same name as my old PC) and a guest account.

Do I need to boot up my old PC, connect to the same network and access it that way?

It seems to me that the files are in my Mac somewhere, but hidden.

    Interesting. Perhaps they are not?

I'd find out the file name of one of your picture files.  Do as suggesst.  Get & use easy find.  Search for the file name of a missing picture file.  I think if you hold down the command key, easy find will search you would hd/sdd
