unable to correct permissions in M.L.

I am receiving several permissions corrections for the iTunes directory stating the files should be a directory. Below is an example of a few reported entries after performing a permissions repair.

Permissions differ on "Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/AACEncoderConfig.nib" ; should be drwxr-xr-x ; they are -rwxr-xr-x

Repaired "Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/AACEncoderConfig.nib"

Permissions differ on "Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/AskUser.nib"; should be drwxr-xr-x ; they are -rwxr-xr-x

Repaired "Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/AskUser.nib"

Permissions differ on "Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/English.lproj/AskUserWide.nib"; should be drwxr-xr-x ; they are -rwxr-xr-x

Repaired "Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/Resources/English.

Why is this occurring? When I first installed Mountain Lion this did not occur

DU can't fix those kinds of things because the bom file says they should be directories but are in fact files. According to http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448, you can ignore such aberations.

Where does it say in that knowledge base that lproj nibs can be ignored?

Since DU can't repair things that it discerns are directories but are in fact files, you're screwed. So all you can do is ignore them after filing a bug report with Apple.

I have manual removed .lproj files that are not "english.lproj" to correct for the failure of correcting file permissions by removing the offending items.

Doesn't make sense, since the ones you posted about are in the English.lproj directory.

This fault returns even after removal of the offending .lproj files. It seems to only occur for Apple software, Safari and iTunes. My language settings is set for English and when a permissions verification is run it is unable to correct these files such as dutch.lproj, german.lproj, etc..

Are you having problems with your computer? If not, just ignore them. Permissions generally don't need to be repaired on a reoccurring basis.
