Changed ID in Settings, but App store still uses wrong ID

Hi all,

I inherited my mom's old iPad (iOS 5.1.1). I've tried to wipe out any trace of her accounts, and have changed both Store and iCloud settings so that they display my correct Apple ID in the Settings screens. But still, when I try to use App store to update or get new apps, it only offers my mom's IDs as sign-in options. (When I press Cancel, it then gives me a 2nd and then a 3rd ID option, but they are all my mother's accounts -- it never offers my own Apple ID as a sign-in option). How do I make App Store allow me to sign in with my ID?

Thanks for any help!

The iPad is still on your mother device list in her iTunes account. She has to remove the device so that you can activate it with your Apple ID.

Just a heads up, If Apps are updated on a computer this iPad syncs to, you may lose the Apps. Many Apps have updated to accomodate ios 7 and no longer will work on ios 5. This can be a hassle if you have more tha one device ( old and new) on the same iTunes library.

Creating another library with the older, non-updated Apps is a good idea if you and mom share a computer.

I hope that fixes things for you.
