After FCPX 10.1 upgrade, Hidden projects and hidden events didn't get updated

I just upgraded FCPX from 10.0.9 to 10.1, without realizing this was a major update. I had some old projects and events that I had hidden by renaming the projects and events folders on my hard drive, as per the method on this page (basically, you create a folder called "Final Cut Pro Projects - Hidden"). Well, these projects and events didn't get updated and now I don't know how to update them after the fact. I'm clueless about the new format of everything and not sure how to update my formerly hidden projects and events now. Any advice?
