Mail bug: Can't disable "Store draft messages on the server" for Gmail

I think there is a new Mail bug in OS X 10.9.1.

I can't disable "Store draft messages on the server" for my Gmail account under Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Mailbox Behavior. Every time I try to disable it (and saving before closing the preferences window), the option comes back with a check mark next to it.

I would appreciate any help with this. This option is particularly troublesome, because, when it's enabled, Mail+Gmail combination will place multiple copies of drafts in the Trash folder.

This problem persists. I do NOT use Gmail, but an IMAP server provided by my webhost (Heart Internet). I cannot turn off 'Store draft messages on the server'... well I can, but it just turns itself on again. This is a major problem because I'm never quite sure whether a message has been sent or not! Then I have to trawl through the Sent folder to check - it's driving me a little crazy.

I don't understand why we keep being told that this is fixed when clearly it isn't.

Can anyone help?
