Mainstage 3.X from 2.x Drum Questions...

Hey MS3 gang,

I'm using multiple channel strips with lots of drums -- in Mainstage 2.XX, I could load the drums as EXS samples and then detune/retune them by adjusting the pitch bend range (accessible on the EXS edit screen) -- on each channel strip.

With the 3.XX upgrade, we get an additional library of drum kits. Does anyone know: Is there any way to load the new drum kits and still access the pitch bend parameters of the EXS editor? With the new 3.0 drums, I can only get/see the new interface showing a drum kit set up on a rug...If i try to access any new drum kits through the EXS, sampler, I can't find the new kits anywhere...

Also, the drum kits and the image show one drum configuration w. 1 bass drum, 1 tom, and a couple floor toms. Is there any way to add cymbals, toms, cowbell, etc... or am I completely misunderstanding the new UI?

thx in advance for any help --

You can do this by loading up a Drum Kit Designer Instrument (with it's kit) then switching the channel's instrument plugin to the EXS24

You are misunderstanding the basics of Drum Kit Designer:

All kits only have 3 Toms, 1 Kick 1 Snare, 3 cymbals 1 Hat at a time. Not displayed are the shaker, claps, tambo, cowbell etc, but they are available via MIDI notes (depending on which note mapping you are using: GM, GM+ V Drum etc.)

Hey CCT! --

Thanks so much -- it's working great...and thanks for the drum kit configuration clarification...I do have another question about drums and damping that you may be able to answer, but I'll post it as a new topic, since others may not see it buried here --thanks again for your help and have a great holiday --
