itunes doesn't let me record any type of cd

hi everyone, this is my first time here, and of course I wish you a very merry christmas. The problem is I have iTunes 11.1.3.8 for Windows on a laptop using Windows 7 Home Basic with SP1, and I´ve tried to record a playlist on one or many cds, but itunes does not respond or expulses the disc, any sugestions?
