I'm thinking about upgrading, but i don't really get what i am going to pay $30 for... the website is a bit misleading. Full Screen? Okay i get that but thats about it. So some general questions and i also want to know, is it worth it or are there better programs to be had that can do the same thing? When it says edit does that mean i can open my file, cut a 10 second clip from the middle of the movie, and then save it as a new file with only those 10 seconds? I mean that'd be cool but does it really work? And what about putting videos on your iPod, everyone is complaning it won't work, so does it or not?

Why not look at some example pages all made start to finish using QuickTime Pro:
http://homepage.mac.com/kkirkster/03war/ Actually, some were made by exporting from iPhoto but were edited and modified using QuickTime Pro.
Full screen can be accomplished via AppleScript and Pro is not required if all you want to do is view small dimensions at a larger display size.
Most of what you can do using QuickTime Pro can be done using other various tools. I like to tinker around with video and sometimes, it's just quicker to cut paste, clear and alter the parameters of the movie in QuickTime instead of one of the other apps.
And, you can't do stuff like this unless you have QuickTime Pro.
You can export from Keynote, but you can't alter the parameters of the file without QuickTime Pro (actually, you may be able to, but QTP may be quicker/easier).
I know my question is already answered but i have another (haha i have too many) can i get clips from a DVD? (prob not) and can i get clips from movie trailers (hopefully)
QT requires the mpeg2playbackcomponent ($20 from Apple) to read from DVD(vob) files. However, even that will not read from commercial movie DVDs, which are encrypted. Even if they are not encrypted you also need this freeware to export the sound from mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 files.
Mpeg StreamClip Since you are running Tiger you already have the H264 codec that is used in most movie trailers so you should be able to make clips from those with Pro. Occasionally you may run across Protected trailers but most are not.
