volume name character length

volume name character length

I,, i am trying to better identify my volume labels for osx and XP on my imac
osx is fine but it seems i can only get a maximum of 10 characters in the XP drive,,, is there a way around this?

XP doesn't have a 10 character limit for fixed disks volume labels.

No if you have formatted your drive as FAT32, this is a limitation of FAT32
