Not knowing a lot about this device: A sampler is supposed to be triggered by a midi signal from the computer to generate sound, but GB doesn't send out midi, it just receives it from midi controllers. There's a plugin called MidiO that does that. And you'd need a midi interface (not just a cable) to connect the USB port of the Mac to the midi in of the device.
In response to your helpful info I would like to add that I will be adding an M-Audio Ozonic keyboard/MIDI controller will this be sufficient to add the sampler to as it has audio interface connections once again thanks for the valuable info
Ok, you can hook up the controller to the sampler and then use the audio out to record into GB. On a real instrument track - which has the limitation that you can't edit the notes afterwards. It will be an audio recording just like from any other source.
