Can FCP X utilize dual gpu's (Radeon 7950) on early 2009 Mac Pro?

I know the new Mac Pro's dual gpu setup will work with FCP X, but if I install two Sapphire 7950 cards in my 4,1 Mac Pro, will FCP X be able to utilize both of them?

Final Cut Pro X, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), FCPX 10.0.9

Read this (long) debate here about power on the MacPro. It is your call. Each card is rated stock to pull 200W. Each 6pin PCIe lead is rated for 75W and you get 75W from each PCIe lane. Your going to be coming up about 100W short under full load. Don't be surprised if you have random reboots. I did try the splitter approach for about a minute before I realized it wasn't likely to work on two GPU's of this size.

It is just a simple Corsair modular PSU. Any inexpensive, well rated model will do. MacRumors has dozens of threads on different ways to add a second PSU. Internal, external... you can do it however you want.

Just installed 2x 7950's using Y splitters (yikes) powering 2x 27"LED cinema displays on the bottom card.

i see no one answered you. i've been using GPUTest_GUI 0.6.1 by geeks3d and running FurMarks on my AMD Radeon HD 7970. Had issues so ran stress tests and benchmarks. Below is what I got, but do you know of any sites where i can post my results to compare with others and have discussions?
