garageband 4.1.2 upgraden to 6.0 is doesn't work

I have an imac showing garage band 4.1.2.

If I want to upgrade to 6.5 garage band will not work.

What should I do to do to pass? Upgrades on garage band

How are you trying to do this? The 6.0.5 updaters on the Apple Support page will only work, if already a GarageBand 6.x version is installed. You need to buy a GarageBand '11 installer, for example the boxed retail version of iLife '11 from Amazon or another online service, then upgrade using the updater from the Apple Support page, download here: GarageBand 6.0.5


Does your MacOS X version support GarageBand 6.0.5? You need to have Mac OS X 10.6.8 installed.
